famous faces
This gallery is about well-known people who are recognisable by their hair or lack of hair.
The hair debate is not just about body hair. Responses to hair and hairlessness vary according to
the location of the hair and the gender of the individual in question. In support of all,
this gallery features
monobrows, glamourous people with hairy underarms,
examples of extreme hair and in support of choice, famous people who've shaved
their heads.

Monobrows

Celebrity Brooke Sheilds, Bert from Sesame Street, and painter Frida Kahlo are all well known for their
distinctive eyebrows. If you want to read more about these people visit external links by clicking on their pictures.

Famous Armpits

Celebrities Drew Barrymoore, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Love Hewitt have all demonstrated that
they are not militant about removing their armpit hair.

Unusual cases: people made famous for their hair:

The man pictured (above left) is Yu Zhenhuan, China's hariest man. 96% of his body is covered in hair which is only 2% away from the world record.

Delina Rossa pictured above in the centre is one of several historical female figures known to have grown a beard. See also, Annie Jones pictured (far right) by the artist James Mundie.

Famous Bald Folk

It's come to my attention that while some adverts criticise the presence of hair, other adverts are criticising the lack of it. Men and women who choose to shave their head hair are sometimes considered just as unorthodox as women who don’t participate in the custom of extensive hair removal.

(from left): Yul Brynner, Sigourney Weaver, Michael Jackson, Sinaed O'Conner and Michael Rosenbaum are all recognisable by their bald scalps. All five photos were sourced from the BALD R US celebrity gallery. For more information about these people click here and visit baldRus.com.
